One patient's story... At another clinic, about six years ago, I had received a diagnosis from a doctor too anxious to call it a day and go home, of “early OA” in my hips, which I saw scribbled on my “chart”, to be taken back to his administrative assistant and book some “physio” appointments. Sure!... Been there, done that!...to have some “caring” physio-person come in, do a two minute assessment, hook me up to a “TENS” muscle contracting machine and pop back 15 minutes later to move me to a traction table for the remaining 15 minutes while s/he rotated amongst the other curtained-off “stalls”...and “Make an appointment for next week”. (Right!)  I found out “OA” is osteoarthritis. The video Not knowing anything about chiropractic procedures, I was pleasantly surprised to be invited to watch a video describing the aspects of Gonstead chiropractic procedures which Dr. Diocee uses in his practice.  Dr. Diocee’s waiting room sometimes has video clips playing on a wall monitor, describing many interesting aspects of chiropractic health and wellness-related things of interest to us all.  Interesting stuff! The smile, the handshake When was the last time you were greeted by a doctor with a smile, letting you know they are truly happy to see and work with you in finding how they can help you?!...How about a hand-shake?!... Huh?!  Not me.  It’s never happened.  And I’ve been seeing doctors for a long time!  I get both of these, a smile and a handshake every time I see Dr  Diocee!  You are not going to believe this...When I got home later that night after my  first treatment, my wife had received a call from...Dr. Diocee!...asking how I was feeling after my first treatment! First things first...x-rays! I don’t know about you, but I like it when a doctor is not too lazy or all-knowing, to take the time and make the effort to find out exactly what s/he is working with/on, before they start  to treat you! For Dr. Diocee, one of those investigations meant two “full-body” x-rays (front and side).  And do you know what?  These x-ray(s) come out every time you see him, before he starts his treatment.  (Mine now, is all marked up with marker-pen notes and arrows, etc.—notations which keep him in touch with my needs, every step of the way.)  Did I mention how much I like the  “no-guess work” aspect of his practice? Reality and the positive approach I’ve always found Dr. Diocee to have a reality-based positive approach, which helps me in two ways:  He tells it like it is (good or bad); he is very forthcoming.  It’s always better/liberating, knowing the truth!  His positive attitude and compassionate approach make for a powerful healing intervention.  Knowing you are in the “hands” of a caring doctor gives you a head start on your road to recovery.  You have finally found someone who is not going to give up or lose interest in you. Guess work —"Nervoscope"! Yes!  The "nervoscope" is a very sensitive instrument/gauge which allows him to assess conditions long your entire spinal column.  It lets him pen-mark points of interest along your spine facilitating and guiding his adjustments/treatments for you.  Once again, caring enough to take the time to “do it right”! No guess work! Treatment explanations Never hesitate to ask Dr. Diocee about any concerns you  may have about your treatments.  He is the most personable doctor I have ever met.  There are reason(s) for all the adjustments/recommendations he will give you.  Don’t be afraid.  Ask.  Communicate.  Provide him with your feedback to enable him to make suggestions for your continuing health care and to let him know how the treatments are working...from your perspective.  He truly wants you “back” doing the things in your life that are important to you.  Hang in there.  This just keeps getting better!... The first treatment session The genuine, welcoming smile.  A warm handshake.  “How are you, today?”  After a review of my medical history questionnaire and a few questions, I was then asked to sit on a seat with my back to him so that he could slide the nervoscope from the top of my spine to the bottom of my spine and pen-mark the spots of interest to him.  Every step of the way, the procedures were clearly explained to me and I was repeatedly asked if I was in any discomfort from his manipulations/adjustments, which for the most part were very gentle and precise, with no “inflicted” pain. Patient or “Person”? Most definitely—“person”!  It’s not “Good morning, Mr. (         )”, rather, it’s “Hi (Jim), I’m Dr. Diocee”  You know you’ve come to the right place!  One of the first things I noticed, is that Dr. Diocee is one of those rare doctors who really sees the “person” in his patient!  This is huge!  It makes such a difference!  Compassion counts!  You are made to feel truly important to him and his administrative assistants (about whom I could write another entire booklet of praise!) Orthotics...or not? Computer-analyzed “walking” foot pressure drawings made by walking across his multi-sensored foot analysis pad, to generate a computer file which he can send to the west coast to have custom orthotics  (shoe inserts) made—just for you and your feet/footwear.  Precision orthotics!  I had two pairs made—one for my regular footwear and one for my gym shoes.  I’ll be ordering another pair for my house slippers!  They make a world of difference and should be worn all the time. Rotated hips Dr. Diocee quickly picked up on this problem of mine too and has worked wonders, gradually bringing them back into alignment through chiropractic manipulation! Unequal leg lengths—corrected During my first treatment session, Dr. Diocee noticed that my leg lengths were one & one-half inches different!  Further analysis indicated this was a functional leg length difference as      opposed to a structural leg length difference.  He placed a small spring-loaded thumping device up against (don’t try this at home folks!) the side of my neck and triggered it.  With a tiny poking sensation—my leg lengths instantly became “equal”!  When I left his treatment room, it felt like I was walking on a tiny stilt for the first few steps!  Amazing!  Subsequent checks revealed less and less discrepancy!  And sometimes, no leg length difference at all.  I was relating to Dr. Diocee, how at a “town” garage sale when I went to get out of a cheap plastic chair, it’s arm snapped and gave me a jolt!  I told him that when I walked to the house to get another chair, my arms were just jangling (shaking) at my sides.  (Thinking that perhaps a recent adjustment was the culprit.) Wham!  I’ve never been “cuffed” so fast in my life—I could hear Dr. Diocee pumping up the blood pressure cuff on my arm, while at the same time pinning a stethoscope to my chest to listen to my heart!  “I notice from your history chart you are on heart medication (blood pressure and cholesterol); Is there anything else wrong with your heart?”  “Well, I have an irregular heart beat”...Dr. Diocee: “Oh, you know that”?...“Yes, I’ve been seeing a cardiologist for years now and I have an occasional “extra” beat.”  Dr. Diocee: “You also have scoliosis (curvature) in your upper spine at the T3 joint and I think that may be contributing to your irregular heart beat.  Let’s start working on that... but first let me percuss (strike) you behind your left shoulder.”  He did.  And listened to my heart again...for the longest half minute I can remember; then he pulled the stethoscope from his ears and plugged it into mine..booomp, booomp, booomp...a perfectly regular heart beat!  I asked him if he was trying to make me cry, I was so excited!  To make a beautiful story short,  my heart beat is now regular on many visits, my blood pressure has gone down from 165/85 to 135/70, I no longer have occasional bouts of “minor” sleep apnea at night where you stop breathing for a few seconds and I can now sleep for eight or 10 hours without waking up! Pain free! I can’t tell  you how I feel today, to be pain free! I used to have excruciating hip and leg pain that I struggled to live with in order to do some of the things I wanted to do.  I’m  not out of the woods yet, but I now certainly have the help in place to make my life pain-free and enjoyable!  Somehow, “Thank you, Dr. Diocee!” just doesn’t seem enough! You are in good hands! Dr. Diocee is a truly gifted chiropractor.  His knowledge, skills and knowing touch, developed over thousands of treatment sessions are truly extraordinary gifts.  Gifts that he shares with us each time he treats us.  What  he is able to “see” through his touch is...miraculous! It’s your life—live it! I am ever so grateful for the suggestion made by a brilliant massage therapist I am being treated  by, for having “seen” my need and suggesting I make an appointment to see Dr. Diocee!  That was one of the best decisions I have ever made!  Do we really need to suffer?  Someone had to tell me about Dr. Diocee.  This is my way of  “paying it forward”.

I’ve always had medium to severe back pain and discomfort in my neck, shoulders and knees.  In May 2014, I did something as simple as standing up from my work desk and collapsed from excruciating back pain.  I was hospitalized for 48 hours and bed ridden for 5 days.  I was unable to sneeze without pain let alone move around on my own.  Doctors told me only physiotherapy would help.  They were wrong.  After 3 months of Physio, I was able to move, but the discomfort was still there.  I decided to go see Dr. Mary Ann Dick, a naturopath, and she referred me to Dr. Diocee. I was unable to do the things I enjoyed doing, like working out or playing with my nephew.  It was a constant battle for me to relax because I could never get comfortable.  I was scared to move too much or too little in fear that my back would give out.  Something as simple as doing laundry and loading the dishwasher was painful. After dedicating time each week to Dr. Diocee’s schedule and recommendations, I slowly started noticing the little things.  The first thing I noticed was loading the dishwasher - pain free!  I didn’t realize how bad things were until I was able to move again. Back pain crippled my life for as long as I can remember and it’s not as if my life changed overnight.  It took time, dedication and Dr. Diocee to get where I am.  I never knew life without back pain so I didn’t realize how much I missed out on the last few years of having these issues. I am 25 and very outgoing so it’s amazing to be able to partake in the simple things in life again.  Fixing my back had a ripple effect on my life and I now enjoy going to the gym everyday which in retrospect has given me more energy and in general, made me a happier person knowing I’m not limited to the things I can enjoy.  It’s a good start to a healthy life and a great way to maintain it and I’ll forever be a patient. Dr. Diocee is always very welcoming and kind.  It’s the personal touches of remembering my name and events in my life that make all the difference.  His staff is amazing as well.  I look forward to seeing the girls up front because they too, are always considerate, welcoming and kind.  I believe in customer service and trust which is few and far to find in this day and age, but Lockport Chiropractic Centre has honestly exceeded all expectations.  Thank you for giving my freedom back.

I was in terrible lower body pain and intense spasms.  I was taking 4 – 6 Aleve and 3 Advil per day.  I had been in physiotherapy for two months.  A customer referred me to Lockport Family Chiropractic Clinic. I was having great difficulty walking and sleeping.  I could no longer serve customers.  I had difficulty sitting, then standing.  The pain was very intense.  I had to use a cane and crawl up the stairs on my hands and knees, using the furniture and walls for support. In 2 and a half weeks of treatment, I’ve gotten rid of the cane, I no longer crawl up the stairs and don’t use the furniture for support.  I was taking many painkillers - now I take maybe one Advil every 2-3 days.  I’m not as moody and feel brighter.  I’m walking under my own power and sleeping 100% better. Without these treatments, I believe that I was headed for a wheelchair.  I was going to the bathroom too many times per day.  I also felt that I was starting to lose complete bowel and bladder control.  This has returned to normal.  My overall physical health is returning to what the “golden years” should be - rather than the “rusty years”.  I have recommended this clinic to my wife, my daughter and my hunting partner.

I would get up in the morning with headaches and a stiff neck.  It took awhile to function properly.  I was taking a lot of Tylenol for the pain. I went to Lockport Family Chiropractic because family members were already attending this clinic with positive results.  After my first treatment, the headaches have disappeared and movement is much better.  I feel like getting up in the morning now with the pain gone.  It is much easier working with no pain. Chiropractic is important to me because it allows me to function daily without taking medication for pain.  With a few treatments, life has improved.

Over the past 10 years I have seen doctor after doctor, specialist after specialist, chiropractor after chiropractor, with no results.  My sister had been seeing Dr. Diocee with good results, so I figured why not one more.  What have I got to lose after 10 years of seeing everyone in Winnipeg and surrounding area?  I was in so much pain, I was afraid I would end up in a wheelchair within five years. I was sleeping for 15 minutes a night, then with two sleeping pills would sleep for an hour, be up for a couple of hours, then sleep for an hour again.  This went on night after night.  I had been to the Sleep Clinic and was told that I did not have sleep apnea, but severe insomnia. The pain between my shoulder blades was so severe that my husband could not touch my back.  I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.  I had such bad headaches that I had to spend days in darkness, to control the nausea.  I was diagnosed with migraines.  I have also been diagnosed with Crohn’s and one of the side effects is arthritis.  The arthritis is in my neck, lower back, and hands and feet.  Severe pain in the lower back meant getting out of bed took at least 10 minutes every morning. I went for my first treatment on November 4, 2013.  I had heard such amazing things about Dr. Diocee from my sister, I felt  I had to see if he was really that good.  That night, I took only one sleeping pill and went to bed as usual.  I fell asleep and woke up seven hours later (I slept for seven hours straight)!  I woke up and leaped out of bed, with no lower back pain!  I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I did not know how much pain I was in until he took most of it away.  I can SLEEP.  And now I know what it’s like to sleep and actually feel rested.  My migraines are gone (WOW!), my fibromyalgia is gone (Amazing!). I still have some lower back pain, but I am still in treatment and have only been seeing the doctor for one month.  I still take a sleeping pill but am working at weaning myself off that.  I feel like a whole new person.  I have been given rest, relief from migraines, fibromyalgia and lower back pain. This doctor actually cares about the pain you are in.  He listens to you and is interested in how you are feeling.  Dr. Diocee has given me a new lease on life.  He has been blessed with a gift to help people, and that he does.  God bless this man.

I consulted with the clinic because the pain in my lower back and neck were unbearable.  Painkillers no longer worked.  I had been to other chiropractors, physiotherapy and had 12 needles in my spine by a back surgeon in Winnipeg, but nothing made any difference. I could not stand more than a few minutes, or walk more than 3 – 5 minutes without having to sit down.  It was hard to sleep because sitting was my only relief. After three weeks of treatments, my sciatic nerve no longer pinches, I can walk with my back no longer hunched forward, and do my ranch work and driving as long as I’m careful. My back pain and discomfort levels have decreased by 60% and are slowly improving every week. Chiropractic has become very important after four years of unbearable pain with no results from any other health care specialist.  This type of adjustment is more successful and much less painful and gave me great results.

I had back surgery in 2012.  In 2013 I still had back pain in my lower back.  A friend told me about this clinic. The pain in my back was terrible; getting out of bed in the mornings and getting dressed was difficult and painful. Since beginning care at the clinic, the improvements are amazing.  I feel better getting out of bed and it is much easier to get dressed. I have only been coming to the clinic for a month and the improvements are amazing.  I am happier and I feel better all around.  I have not felt this good in years and look forward to getting even better. Chiropractic keeps me mobile.  The pain in my lower back was so bad, getting out of bed or a chair was terrible.  Chiropractic treatment has allowed me to keep working and stay mobile.

I was in a car accident and I started to get a lot of headaches.  My headaches would stop me from doing my regular activities, like going to school and playing. Since beginning care at this clinic, my headaches became less frequent and now I don’t get them at all.  I can be more active and not worry about getting a headache.  I can have fun like a normal kid. Chiropractic is important to me because it has made me feel better and able to be a normal active kid.

I needed to get relief of pain in my back during my third trimester of pregnancy and no other medical treatments seemed to be working.  I could not walk or sleep without interruption.  Being tired and uncomfortable makes one irritable and dependent on others for help. My very first appointment took my pain level down to a  “1” when it was at a “9” on a scale of 1 – 10!  Continuous treatment assured the pain did not come back.  I get a good night of sleep and in turn have more energy throughout the day.  It is important for me to be able to walk because most days that is the only exercise I can fit in. Chiropractic is important to me because sometimes one can do everything they can to be mentally and physically healthy, but still have issues; it is nice to know there is a doctor nearby to help.

As a result of a fall on my back, I experienced continuous headaches, persistent mid and lower back pain and fatigue.  Back pain surfaced while holding church hymnbooks, pushing grocery carts, unloading grocery bags, etc.  I was able to do only light housework - no vacuuming and yard work was on hold for over two months.  At times, social engagements were cancelled due to back pain and headaches. Since beginning care at this clinic, I have had no headaches for three months.  In this time frame my physical strength vastly improved, enabling me to resume my regular work and social functions. I am now experiencing little pain and improved strength.  I enjoy a better home and social life and my confidence has been restored. It is important for me to be free of headaches and have the physical endurance to take care of my young grandson during the summer holidays and attend to household and yard chores.  Regular adjustments have improved my life functions.

I was involved in a car accident in March 2011.  After having seen another chiropractor I was still in pain ten months later.  My mother suggested this clinic as there was the use of x-rays and other diagnostic tools.  At the time I had been enduring fairly constant pain to the point of it affecting my sleep and general life.  I was also no longer moving much (extra walking, regular exercise) due to pain and had gained unwanted weight. Immediately following the first treatment, I noticed a great reduction in pain and much increased mobility.  I was soon able to re-establish an exercise routine and my sleep and daily life were returning to normal.  I no longer feel like everything is an effort.  I have been able to move and enjoy simple things again in a way I thought would be impossible due to pain. I cannot overstate the improvement in my quality of life since having these treatments, and I can feel the difference in all aspects of my health because of the treatments.

Positive word of mouth is why I consulted with this clinic for my situation.  I was severely limited in performing daily tasks and unable to walk more than a few feet without severe pain.  I was unable to cook meals, do housework, etc., due to severe pain in my neck and entire back.  Since beginning care at the clinic, I am now able to assist with housework and make meals.  I can walk greater distances and stand for longer periods of time.  I have much less pain.  On a scale of 1 – 10 (10 being worst pain) my pain was 10+ when I began treatment.  Now, my pain averages 3 - 4 most days.  I have been able to decrease the amount of medication I was on with eventual discontinuation and have decreased the amount of pain medication taken daily. Chiropractic care has increased my quality of life more than any medication has in over 10 years.  I went to two other chiropractic doctors prior to seeing Dr. Diocee with NO results after attending regular sessions for over a year.  I have experienced more relief with Dr. Diocee’s treatment and care than any previous treatment regime.  The Footmaxx orthotics provided me with INSTANT, unbelievable additional pain relief.  My two previous chiropractors looked at my feet and told me I did not need orthotics.  Dr. Diocee assessed my need for orthotics with the computerized Footmaxx system.  I cannot believe the tremendous improvement I have experienced in my walking, my posture and my level of pain. I initially chose the Lockport Family Chiropractic Centre because it was very close to home, I was very dissatisfied with prior chiropractic treatment and I received very positive referrals from acquaintances.  Now I stay and highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Diocee because the assessment process is very thorough, individualized and includes the use of x-rays to guide treatment.  Dr. Diocee addresses my needs and develops a plan of care looking at me as a person, not just a disease or condition.  He listens intently to all concerns and addresses all of my questions thoroughly.  I like that the plan of care continues beyond initial treatment – into wellness maintenance -- and is based upon my lifestyle.  The care is very compassionate, and individualized with excellent results. I have never felt pain during any one of my treatments, each adjustment is very gentle.  With my prior experience with chiropractic treatments in other clinics, I would come home in such pain, I could literally not touch my neck or back where it had been adjusted – this has NEVER happened here.  The clinic atmosphere is always pleasant, friendly and professional.

I consulted the clinic because of lower back pain.  I was unable to work and could hardly walk as a result of this pain.  Since beginning care at the clinic, I feel better than I have for several years.  My back pain is gone and the discomfort I have been living with from prior damage is also gone. I can work now in comfort, get around and play with my kids again.  After seeing the improvement and the explanation of how I would heal, then seeing it happen, it all makes sense now, and I will be keeping up with follow-up treatments.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in May of 2008.  I researched the condition and found that chiropractic care is a recommended alternative treatment for MS.  I had several physical and mental symptoms that were new to me.  I was worried that my health would deteriorate and wanted to be proactive in terms of treatment.  Dr. Diocee is located very close to my home and work, so I decided to try it out. My feet were numb and tender.  There was numbness in my left leg and a little deeper numbness in my right foot.  This numbness, pain and general weakness in my legs affected my gait and made walking unpleasant.  My arms also ached and twitched.  Aside from these slight physical symptoms, I had some mental issues to deal with.  At the time, I was still reeling from this diagnosis.  I had difficulty sleeping, was dizzy, had nausea, a racing heart and hot and cold flashes.  My mind could not focus and I found some of my cognitive abilities were hindered. Since beginning care at the chiropractic clinic, some of my physical MS symptoms have subsided.  I no longer have numbness in my left leg, my right leg has some slight numbness in the foot and calf area.  The deep numbness is gone and the soreness in my arms has disappeared.   Mentally, all the symptoms have subsided and my sleep patterns also returned to normal.  My cognitive abilities slowly improved and returned to normal. My feet feel great, and are no longer painful.  This is due in part to the excellent custom athletic orthotic insoles that Dr. Diocee recommended.  As a result of healthy living and Dr. Diocee’s care, my MS symptoms have subsided to the point where I can manage day-to-day activities without being conscious of them.  I feel fit, confident and strong, both physically and mentally. Because my condition is neurological, it is important for me to take care of an area of health that I previously neglected (brain and spinal cord health).  Dr. Diocee is very positive and knowledgeable.  His care and optimism have helped me overcome my MS.  His treatment is carried out with the patient in mind (and without the usual sudden and painful movements that typically occur with regular chiropractors).  The treatment helps me feel “aligned” for the weeks that fall between visits.  Dr. Diocee’s chiropractic care is now part of my regular health regime.  With his care and continued healthy living, I feel I can handle this condition from now on.  I also appreciated his advice with my condition and with other health-related matters.  I would definitely recommend Dr. Diocee to others who suffer from similar conditions.

After an accident on August 17, 2011, I went to the emergency room of our local hospital.  I was sent home with painkillers and advised that x-rays had not shown any damage.  I spent the first week in a Broda chair and began using a cane immediately.  After a few weeks, I started shaking while speaking or walking, with spasms in my upper torso.  I followed through with physiotherapy and a local chiropractor.  My symptoms became worse.  Next, I attended HSC ER in mid-October and was seen by a neurologist and diagnosed with spinal myoclonus (a sudden muscular contraction) of unknown origin.  MRIs located fractures of L1 and L4.  I was following numerous drug trials to try to contain the myoclonus.  I was waiting for an appointment at the movement disorder clinic when I attended Lockport Family Chiropractic Centre and met Dr. Diocee in December 2011.  His x-rays confirmed L1 and L4 fractures and also indicated a fracture at T3. By December 2011, my health had deteriorated to the point where I could not walk without a cane and my spasms were so bad that I could not speak without being reclined.  My head was shaking so uncontrollably that I looked like I was in advanced stages of Parkinson’s.  The amount of stress that this placed on me and my family was extreme.  On my first visit, Dr. Diocee took a video of my movements, as he suspected that treatment would make a noticeable improvement.  Following my first treatment in December 2011, my shaking diminished immediately.  I have managed to wean myself from any medications I had been taking in a wasted effort to control my shaking.  I may have a long way to go but have seen such an improvement, that I’m willing to comply and attend treatments as Dr. Diocee indicates. My life has improved in that I feel I will regain my lifestyle back without doing physical damage to my system by unnecessary medications.  Chiropractic is important and it has given me hope.  It has reduced my pain, and is helping me make important life changes for the future.

A client of mine recommended Dr. Diocee.  I was desperate, so I called to make an appointment.  I was heading for depression, having to sleep in a chair due to constant pain and not able to do much of anything.  Since beginning chiropractic care I am able to move more easily and do more around the house, etc.  I still have some pain but can handle it much better.  I am now sleeping in bed after 21 days and feeling more able to handle life again.  Chiropractic has allowed me to lead a normal life.

I had lower back, hip and leg pain which started in September 2008.  My family doctor put me on painkillers for the next three months while I was waiting for an MRI.  I was unable to work and I was in severe pain; my wife had to drive me to medical appointments.  I was only getting between 2 to 3 hours sleep per night and lost about 20 pounds. Dr. Diocee was recommended to me by a friend.  I started seeing him at the beginning of January 2009.  He took X-rays and found my right leg was 18mm shorter than my left and corrected it by putting a lift in my right shoe.  I also needed orthotics.  After a couple of weeks with the lift in my right shoe and the new orthotics, I felt improvements.  Within five weeks of seeing Dr. Diocee, I was off painkillers.  I had a lot less pain and was getting a lot more sleep.  I was able to drive again and soon after gradually went back to work. Chiropractic care has given me my health back, relieved my pain and allowed me to get back to normal.  Thank you, Dr. Diocee, for all you have done for me.

“I cannot help you unless you have back surgery” was what I was told by the head neurosurgeon at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC Winnipeg) after injuring my back. I injured my back two years before meeting Dr. Diocee.  I suffered immense pain and became depressed.  I was taking strong prescription pain medicine, was referred to the pain clinic at HSC and was meeting with a neurosurgeon who suggested surgery.  Being under 30 years old, the thought of surgery was terrifying.  I was in no way ready for surgery.  All along this journey, friends and family were suggesting to go see a chiropractor.  "No way", I thought.  No one is “cracking” me.  I had a huge fear of chiropractors since I was young.  I thought seeing a chiropractor was never going to be for me.  My fear was irrational – it was basically the stories and folklore you hear from your friends who don’t believe in chiropractors. The pain got so bad that at times I was unable to move and was virtually bedridden.  At last, I forced myself to see a chiropractor.  Off to Winnipeg I went and I will be honest – the first few I saw were exactly what I feared!  They were quick to tell me that they would cure me and weren’t patient with me as my fear had me sitting in their office crying. I always heard that the “Chiropractor in Lockport is very good”.  So I gave it a try.  My first meeting with Dr. Diocee had me sitting in the room with the TV crying – my fear and pain completely consuming me.  He was very reassuring and kind.  I calmed down, and then went for my first adjustment.  You know what – I didn’t even think he did anything!  There were no jerking motions – just touch!  I left that appointment feeling like I lost so many years of my life wasting it taking pills. I am not saying that after my first appointment I have felt no pain whatsoever.  I still have bad days and take non-prescription painkillers.  I also have days where I can’t move due to horrible pain.  I have come to believe that this is what happens when you have a “bad back”.  I have more good days that have been lasting into good weeks and good months than I would have ever thought!  Suffering through those bad days is easier knowing that seeing Dr. Diocee will give relief and aid in my healing. Dr. Diocee is also concerned about my overall health.  He has suggested different supplements to take along with other diet and health tips.  He is always willing to answer questions I have regarding my treatment.  The staff, Lee and Loretta, are also a delight.  You never feel like you are interrupting something when you call. I highly recommend Dr. Diocee.  He is a great asset to our community.  He has given me back my life when I thought that pain pills and surgery were going to be the only cure for me.

I consulted the clinic to see if I could find a chiropractor who could assist me with chronic pain concerns - lower back, left buttock, hip area, right leg pain and swelling.  I was also searching for a gentler method of adjustment.  I had been in care prior to seeing Dr. Diocee.  Many areas of my life were affected by my chronic pain.  Lack of sleep on a very regular basis, extreme stiffness and rigidity, chronic pain ongoing in left hip area. challenged at work and limited range of movement. I started with Dr. Diocee on October 2007.  Now I am experiencing less pain.  Some days I only have minimal discomfort.  My sleep has improved.  The daily activities that were restricted are now improved.  My personality has returned to a more pleasant and optimistic outlook due to the less pain I'm experiencing. With regular chiropractic care, life on a daily routine is more stable.  I am able to tell when my body requires care.  I have returned to work.  With chiropractic care, diet management and a supplement program, I am off my pharmaceutical medication.  Care is important to maintain total wellness and pain control that affects my quality of life.

I was not satisfied with the results and care I received at another clinic and your clinic was praised by another satisfied patient.  I was in constant pain and could not do certain tasks.  Since beginning care at the clinic, I can do all my chores without pain and feel good again.  I have more energy and have a totally different outlook on life.  I received help when my regular physician could not or would not help me and would not look deeper into my problems.  Thank you very much, Dr. Diocee, for helping me.

After seeing various chiropractors without too much success, I was referred to Dr. Diocee by a friend who told me Dr. Diocee did a full spinal x-ray and had a different method of manipulation.  I wasn’t very mobile after getting up in the mornings.  I had limited activity due to lower back pain and I was walking crooked because of misaligned hips.  Since beginning care at the clinic, I enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle and lower blood pressure because of my reduced back pain.  I am able to do various activities (ie hunting, snowmobiling, ladder work, stooping and getting out of bed) with next to no back pain. Chiropractic is important to me because of the manipulation of the body back to the proper position to relieve pain and not covered up with muscle relaxants and pain pills.

I consulted with the clinic for pain in my hip joint and nerve pain down my leg.  I tried physiotherapy and massage therapy but this did not relieve my pain.  Pain medication was my only relief, then I decided to try chiropractic.  I’m 44 yrs of age and in great health and I love to walk and exercise regularly.  However, the pain was so bad, simple exercise became a problem.  If I wanted to go out in the evening, I needed pain medication to function.  Since beginning care at the clinic, I’m off pain medications!  I know I must continue with chiropractic care for my wellbeing.  Now I’m walking, shopping, visiting and enjoying life! I’ve had this pain for two years and my doctor could only suggest painkillers and physiotherapy.  Neither of these corrected the problem.  My sister-in-law mentioned Dr. Diocee, so I decided to give chiropractic a try.  It’s the best choice I could of made!

This is written in appreciation for the professional care that I have received as a patient of Dr. Diocee during the past several months.  In July 2007, I suffered a severe back injury and when I began treatment a spinal x-ray showed there was a fractured vertebrae.  This was extremely painful and I was unable to walk around our home without the use of a cane and additional assistance.  It was also very difficult to go to Dr. Diocee’s office. A program was set up that included several treatments per week at the start, but which were reduced at regular intervals.  I now see him once a week and my physical condition and level of pain has improved a great deal. I have found Dr. Diocee to be very personable and thorough in his treatment.  I would be pleased to recommend him to anyone needing chiropractic care.

I came to see Dr. Diocee for back pain, mostly between the shoulder blade area, and for headaches – they were beginning to give me problems.  A good friend strongly recommended Dr. Diocee. These health issues were restricting my movements.  I was unable to accomplish simple things like washing windows, walls, vacuuming, etc.  Sitting at the computer at work was getting progressively worse.  Since coming to the clinic, the improvement to my health has been immense; the use of my arms hasn’t been this good in years.  It’s been an unbelievable difference.  Just saying my life has improved is an understatement.  In eight months, the change has been incredible.  I managed to do all my windows and was still able to move my arms the next day, as well as breathe easily. Dr. Diocee’s chiropractic service is amazing.  He has an amazing knowledge of how one’s body works.  I truly appreciate not being bent like a pretzel and there is no snap-crackle procedure.  His new improved procedures are wonderful.  I thank God every day for him and his amazing procedures.

Exhausted and frustrated with having to go through endless and constant daily pain, I needed to know if someone like Dr. Diocee could help me.  I had seen 17 medical doctors of all levels within 18 months who hadn’t been able to help me lessen the aches and pains.  I had been diagnosed and re-diagnosed with having a stroke, to having lupus to having multiple sclerosis. Dr. Diocee was confident and willing to see what he and the Gonstead technique could do to help me.  He examined me, took x-rays and then explained what was happening to my body.  He explained what he could do, as well as what the Gonstead technique was.  Dr. Diocee had certainly taken on a challenge!  Although I see Dr. Diocee a few times a week, and I still go through a lot of pain, it is nothing in comparison to what I was going through prior to coming to see him. I have my good days and I still have my bad, but I tell you it sure feels good now when I can turn the ignition to the car on without having it hurt, hold a cup for the most part and not have the cup fall from my hands, or even just to hold the phone in a conversation for more than five minutes.  I am far from being 100% and I know it’s still early in the game, but I believe, as Dr. Diocee does, that I didn’t get like this overnight, and I certainly won’t heal overnight, but if I continue with my visits and his way of healing, my body will heal in time. I have gone off ALL medications that the other medical doctors have prescribed to me for the previous 18 months (with the odd painkiller to help me out), but for the most part I’m holding my own now and I put a lot of faith and trust that Dr. Diocee’s way of healing will be and continue to be my saviour of living a normal, active lifestyle again. I look forward to continuing my visits with Dr. Diocee and healing on a daily basis.  You are definitely one of a kind, Dr. Diocee!

I originally came to see Dr. Diocee because I had terrible headaches every day for about a year.  After my son was born in October 2006, I brought him because he had acid reflux and his head was always tilted to one side – he looked very uncomfortable.  He cried ALL the time.  My headaches were getting in the way of everyday life – I couldn’t function at work, etc.  Levi’s problems were affecting us because he was always crying – a very painful cry.  He had a very difficult time sleeping and spit up constantly.  Since beginning care at the clinic I no longer have headaches – I feel 100% better.  Levi no longer has any problems from acid reflux from what I can tell and his head no longer flops to one side.  He is such a happy and content baby now! I wasn’t able to function very well with headaches and now I have no problems with that.  My life has improved the most, though, by Levi getting so much better.  He cried all the time – not a hungry or tired cry, but a painful cry.  I don’t know where we would be if I hadn’t brought him to see Dr. Diocee. Chiropractic care has changed our lives!  It is very miserable to have a headache every day and I was not interested in taking painkillers every day as was suggested to me.  Why mask the pain when there is a cure for the problem?  With Levi it was even more difficult because a two month old baby cannot tell you what is hurting him.  If I had just accepted people’s advice of “it’s just colic” or “he’s a baby and babies cry” he would have gone on in pain and I probably would have gone out of my mind.  I now recommend to all my friends that they have their babies checked out.  You never know what damage has been done to a baby during birth.

I consulted your clinic because I had a shoulder problem.  At my first visit in September 2001, Dr. Diocee noticed that my nose was stuffed up and I could hardly breathe.  Actually, I had more problems with my nose and breathing than with my shoulder.  I had six operations on my nose in a 30 year span.  All in vain.  The last 5 years were the worst.  I couldn’t eat properly or sleep at night because of blocked nostrils.  Doctors kept telling me it was a bad case of polyps which reoccur every 3 years. After a few treatments on my shoulder, Dr. Diocee worked on my neck and spine and my nostrils opened up.  This happened 6 years ago.  I have no more problems breathing and it doesn’t seem to matter what weather conditions are as my nose is always clear.  It wasn’t the polyps - Dr. Diocee could tell you what it was.  By the way, my shoulder is better now too! I had made the best choice – a chiropractor – Dr. Diocee.  He saved my life as I couldn’t carry on with my nose problems.  Thank you Dr. Diocee!

I was referred to Dr. Diocee by a co-worker after injuring my lower back at work.  I couldn’t sleep, sit or walk without major pain.  After four weeks of treatments, I was back to work.  I was able to walk, sleep and sit without major pain.  I felt better all around.  Without the side effects of drugs, etc, Dr. Diocee has been able to give me back the physical strength to get back doing all the activities I love to do. You can’t measure how good the improvement in my abilities have been since seeing Dr. Diocee.  Chiropractic is important to me because of the care Dr. Diocee has given to me.  I was not a believer in chiropractic before.  I am now.  Dr. Diocee is the best caregiver I’ve had.  He explained everything to me.  I feel he has an ability to communicate with his patients that is rare these days with doctors.  I will have Dr. Diocee as my chiropractor for life now.  Thanks Doc!

My neck was paining me to the extent that I was having headaches and had a hard time turning my head.  Also my lower back was often aching.  I had a hard time doing simple tasks in the house like vacuuming and dusting.  Also, I enjoyed weight training before but was unable to do most of what I used to. I now feel so much better!  I can now move my head any way I want to.  My headaches are gone and my back has no more pain.  I am now back into weight lifting and long distance walking.  These things are very important to me.  I’m in a better frame of mind and life in general has improved!  Not only has my life improved physically but I find that my  memory has improved and my asthma is not as acute as it was.  So all in all, my whole being is better.  I believe that chiropractic treatments can only make things better for anyone who uses them!

For twenty years, I have been going to clinics and getting pain killers and body massages that would last for a day or two until April 2006 when Dr Diocee helped me change my ways and better myself.  I had no feeling in my left arm, sore hips and legs, problems driving long distances and wasn't sleeping well.  I needed help to get out of bed.  It was a slow process but with time and patience, exercise and doing what I was told, my problems got better and my aches disappeared.  I can play with my grandchildren, help my friends and family with yard work, shovel, rake, carry wood and wake up with no pain and enjoy the next day.  Knowing that Dr Diocee is there for me anytime and never giving up with his advice and treatments is very satisfying.

I have been living with pain in my back and neck for a lot of years.  I was also having dizzy spells, to the point where I was scared to walk too far or ride my bike.  I went to the doctor and he sent me for an x-ray and a scan.  They showed that my neck had been fractured a long time ago.  I have a birth defect in my lower back, osteoarthritis and degenerated discs in my back.  I asked him if I should go to a chiropractor and he said that wasn’t a good idea as they might twist or turn my neck and make it worse.  I thought that there was nowhere else to go. I was also getting depressed, thinking I have to live with this. One day I was talking with a friend about my situation and she suggested that I try her chiropractor.  I mentioned to her what the doctor had said and she said the one she goes to isn’t rough.  I thought, “oh well, it can’t get any worse”.  I came here three months ago, you x-rayed me, told me you could help me but it wouldn’t happen overnight, because my back didn’t get like this overnight.  You set me up with a plan and it’s working.  I am following the care plan.  It has been three months and I am off Tylenol.  I hardly have any more dizziness, I can sleep most nights and pain is minimal.  I am also riding my bike and going out again. With the help of my chiropractor, a positive attitude, wild salmon oil, glucosamine sulfate and peace of mind, I am thanking God for putting you in my path and giving you the knowledge to do this work. God wants us to have an abundant life and that means living healthy and without pain.  Thank you Dr Diocee for your care.

When I first came to see you, I was in pain from my ears to my toes.  Every muscle and joint was in pain and I could barely walk and I couldn't drive.  I had to use both hands to lift a cup of coffee.  After you took x-rays and examined them it was music to my ears to hear you say “I think I can help you!” After you gave me a treatment you said “When you get home don’t be alarmed if you feel an electric shock going down your leg”.  I came back the next day and told you the shock went up my arm.  You told me “Now I am sure I can help you, but it will take some time”.  The injury in my neck and lower back were old injuries and you had to go slowly in your treatments. After the second treatment you went into the waiting room and told my wife “don’t worry I will get your husband to drive again”.  On the sixth visit I was actually able to drive myself to see you. Thanks to you, I can now drive a truck, car or van.  I can even drive a tractor to clear snow off the yard and driveway.  Thank you for giving me my life back.  Hope God helps and guides your hands to help others as you helped me.
